Original works and signed, limited-edition prints
by museum-collected artists. One of one. So are you.
We are not selling wall decor.
We are selling stories of lives well lived.
As parents of 2 young children growing up in an accelerated AI world, we wanted them to learn what makes us most human by surrounding them with original arts. We found a market built by and for the wealthiest in our society. So we built the one we wanted, for us and for everyone.

Museum holdings listed here refer to the artist, or to another impression of this image, not to the sheet offered. Full written disclosure for this work — signature, medium and process, edition size, master status — is sent before payment on request, and with delivery in every case.
Thank you. We will be in touch about {{ work.title }} within one business day.

A record, not a claim of authorship. It states what we have verified, the evidence we relied on, and what remains unconfirmed.
Prints and photographs sold for more than $100 are “multiples” under Article 15 of the New York Arts and Cultural Affairs Law. Written disclosure of the artist, the signature, the medium and process, whether the work is a reproduction, when it was made, the use and status of the master, and the size of the edition is supplied before payment and again with delivery. Ask and we will send it before you order.
Making original creation an everyday access for families, so that our children can never be threatened by artificial creation.
We are both executives at an AI software company. We are also the parents of a first grader and a one-year-old. Every day we see what these systems can do. And like everyone else, we see what they stand to replace.
That left us with a question we could not shake: how do you prepare a child for a world where a machine can do almost any technical skill? We still don’t have the answer. But it led us to a better question. What makes us most human?
Lived experience. The broken hearts, the laughter, the smell of a certain food that brings back someone you loved, the endless asking of why. Only one medium can hold those things and set them off again in another person. That medium is art, made by artists out of lives they have actually lived.
So we decided our children would grow up with original art around them. Then we went looking. Everything at retail was beyond our budget. Auction houses had better prices, but the quality was varying and the information was thin. The barrier to entry is high, and it is high by design.
The original art market was built by and for the wealthiest people in our society. A child of the 1% is likely born into a home with original works on the walls, absorbing early the ideas, perspectives and stories that come from real human creation. Everyone else gets factory prints, run off by the thousands.
We built Unprompted to change that. It is a private gallery of original art with standard pricing across all work, lower than what a furniture store charges for a mass-produced print. Behind each piece is our proprietary catalogue database of the artist’s history and exhibition record.
Every artist is checked against public museum records. The number beside a name counts museums that own and keep work by that artist — not this particular sheet. It carries a plus sign because our coverage of American museums is deep and our coverage of Europe is still growing, so the figure is a floor rather than a total.
Each piece is photographed, measured and researched before it is offered. Medium, edition, signature, inscriptions and condition are recorded, along with the documents that came with the work, and we say plainly when something is unconfirmed.
Your work arrives tracked, in archival packaging, with a Certificate of Human Origin, the written disclosure required for multiples, and a 14-day viewing period.
